Even with all the challenges, personal and professional, this year provided us with so many opportunities for growth, patience, and appreciation.
As Briabay enters its 6th year I have to take a moment to step back and let that really sink in. The truth is Briabay is still here because of all of you! Your support, patience, and genuine friendship has gotten us to this moment in time, and I couldn’t be more thankful.
As a new year dawns, Briabay prepares for its biggest leap of faith yet, stocking real inventory. Up to this point we have been completely reliant on pre-orders, but as demand grows we are challenging ourselves to take that next step and offer more products ready to ship.
To be honest, I’m terrified. It’s a big financial gamble that could result in a room full of unsold items and regret. But as I look back, thumbing through all the messages, likes, comments, emails, and shared pictures of your sweet kids, I can’t help but selfishly want more. Being a small part of so many important life events has changed me. Watching all you amazing mamas leading your families inspire me to be better and keep moving forward. Birthdays, holidays, family trips, and just good ole fashion playtime is why we do it, why we love it.
So what’s next? I will be overseeing a new full capacity production team ensuring we maintain the highest quality product with a process that minimizes waste. Though it’s hard for me to lighten my grip on the sewing machine, it makes me proud to be able to support my local community with new job creation. I will be focusing my efforts on storytelling, fabric shopping, and new product designs.
Do I dare say it, am I finally a real fashion designer? Guess we are about to find out.
